This year we were invited to exhibit at the UK and Europe’s conference on addiction disorder – ICAAD International. The event took place over three days in May and attracted over 1,000 delegates from the UK’s statutory and charitable sector through to domestic and international private treatment centres – from Addiction on Addiction and the Priory through to the Cabin in Thailand.

The conference was attended by many organisations with whom Steps2Recovery has established or is developing relationships like RAPt (the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust), Amy’s Place and the Spitalfields Crypt Trust and it also offered us the opportunity to raise our profile with other treatment professionals and to showcase our model for treating people leaving the criminal justice system with addiction issues. It’s an event that, like us, puts abstinence based recovery at the core of its ethos and its menu of presentations provided trustees, staff and clients the chance to explore some novel and interesting ideas around recovery.
